Isosorbide dinitrate
Indications/Uses
Angina pectoris, prophylaxis of anginal attacks in chronic coronary diseases, anginal disorders after MI, heart failure.
Dosage/Direction for Use
1 tab 2 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications
Marked anaemia, hypotension, cardiogenic shock. Avoid sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
Special Precautions
Glaucoma. May develop tolerance & cross-tolerance to other nitrates & nitrites.
Adverse Reactions
Headache, postural hypotension, nausea.
Drug Interactions
Enhanced hypotensive action w/ antihypertensives, sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil.
